Daughter Of The Wind Poem by Mark Heathcote

Daughter Of The Wind

Daughter of the Wind, if this is goodbye
You make me want to cry.
For every dandelion weed blown into the sky
Daughter of the Wind, if this is goodbye
I too will want to fly.
Daughter of the Wind
You make me want to cry.
Daughter of the Wind
I don't want to transverse anymore.
Mountains to get back home
I don't want to swim through
Any more waves learning to swim
Daughter of the Wind, if this is goodbye
You make me want to cry.
And sail this life on by.
Daughter, you were the wind in my sail.
My one fail-safe mechanism when I needed help
Now I don't know how to be just me.
Not without you by my side.
