Dawn Leaves Poem by Barry Middleton

Dawn Leaves

Rating: 5.0

love does not leave without the dawn
it takes the early morning light away
and leaves us only with the day
the days are easy to endure
the nights are filled with single sighs
and fear the sun will never rise
the sun is high when I awake
love does not leave without the dawn
for sleepless nights
are blind to eastern light

Even in college you wrote with depth. A heart-touching poem on the loss of love. These words ring so true.

Oh, so true, so true, when love is gone, the dawn is gone, The sleepless nights, Where darkness, frights. Deeply touched by this intense and incredible work.

Sandra, I am so glad you liked it. Again this one was written so long ago.
