Daylight Savings Time Poem by Randy McClave

Daylight Savings Time

I hate Daylight savings time
I think it should be known as a crime,
But, only when I lose an hour
Tiredness over me then does cower.

But, when I gain an hour instead
I sleep peacefully and soundly in my bed,
But, when I lose an hour of sleep
It causes me to weep.

So, why does Daylight savings time exist
As I pound my clock with my fist,
Why must I lose those 60 minutes
Why must they test my limits.

I know an hour is lost somewhere
It was given away without thought or care,
I want that hour back
So, I can sleep long and peacefully in my sack.

Daylight savings time is coming this Sunday
I will be tired and aggravated and grumpy,
And I know that the lord will understand why
Because, daylight savings time is not written in the sky.

So, this coming Sunday morning
When I am at church, tired, napping and mourning,
When the Pastor and Congregation see or hear me snooze
Remember, Daylight savings time God never did choose.
