Days With My Father Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Days With My Father

Days with my father were high and royal
Rich with laughter, joy, happiness, role model
Whose tranquility made me the man I became.
He was a single parent after my mother left home
Working hard, never doubting, raising two sons
With love, understanding, always there for us.
Now, I try to be as much like him as possible
Graceful, gentle soul loving God's creations
Always thankful for blessings bestowed.
Such precious memories of him to cherish
Sweet times, inspired, making a boy into a man
Now, long gone, remains enthroned in my heart.
He taught me right from wrong, love before hate
Always readily putting others before himself.
