Days With My Father

Days with my father were high and royal
Rich with laughter and family joy
That made my brother and myself the men we became
He was a single parent after my mother left home
Worked hard, never doubting while raising two sons
With love and understanding, always there for them.
Now, I try daily to be as much like him as possible
Graceful gentle soul loving all God's creation
Ever thankful for the blessings bestowed.
Oh, such memories of him for me to cherish
Times blessed and fruitful for my growing soul.
Knowing the man he was, enthroned in my heart.
Who taught me to have values and faith in Jesus Christ
Be loving, and always putting others before myself.
