Dead Man's Pulse Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Dead Man's Pulse

Rating: 5.0

I am in the mortuary
dead bodies scattered
life trickles in the estuary
leaves the rivers battered,

where it's hemlock that flows
life finds newer lows

I am in the mortuary
dead bodies scattered
where's mine? I'm wary
for, everything mattered.

The dead man hangs his shoes
his sobbing heart away he shoos
that goes dubb-lubb, dubb-lubb
yelps of the stuffed dog subside.
