Dear God Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Dear God

Dear God

Oh, Dear
My Dear Great God
I want you and need you
Please come, let us hug
Long lasting
Sweet, warm
You and me
Two of us
A Bear-hug

You come as perfection
I, naive, weak and meek
I will ask you questions
And you know all answers

But please
I beg you

No priest; no rabbi
No mufti; no mullah

None of them
None of these
None of such shitty things
In their robes or cloaks
Wearing codes or designs
(and even if without…)

Let us be friends and straight
If with them you show up
I will kick you in butt

You come as perfection
I, native, weak and meek
I will ask you questions
And you know all answers

To start, foundation
-and of end…if there is
-is there one? Tell me when.
-tell me how, also…why?
