Dear Heart Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Dear Heart

Dear heart

I gave you all I had
Food, urine, to blood
Everything has been, is
In your hand up and down
Everything, day and night
I became your toy and
You are I.

Now,
You are my best and nearest, closest
That turned to a dagger to my life
You sold me and still, are selling,
To softness you gave me, betraying
To kindness you tied me, trading.

Dear heart:
“Change or die.”
