Dear, Mr Chalk Poem by Ndimancho T. Nyowikeh

Dear, Mr Chalk

Dear Mr. Chalk, how are you faring?
I trust you are thriving well.
It's been a while since we last met.
It's been days since we colleagued at CKC,
To Teach young folks the art of literature.
To be honest, my friend, I miss you dearly.
Seeing you today brings a sense of guilt upon me.

My spirit keeps pulling me back.
Yet, destiny has charted my course.
If we are meant to be, then it shall be.
I remember using you to carve
on the board: Subjects, Date, Title,
And my favorite novel,1984.
Such feelings remain, dear Mr. Chalk.
If you are mine and I am yours,
Then we shall meet again in different forms,
And Never to part any longer.
