Dear Sister Poem by Jade Baker

Dear Sister

I long for you to look up at me,
And become what I can only long to be,
I know that I’m not ‘cool’ or ‘hip’,
That I’m not who you want your friends to see you with,
But I’m still your big sister and I still care for you,
I still care about the things you do,
I know that I cant always give you the guidance that you need,
And I know that sometimes you hate me,
I’m not the sister you would’ve chosen,
And I know that you think I’m just a freak,
But sometimes I wish you could see,
That there’s more than stupid words in me,
That despite the stupid things I say,
I’m always here,
Even when you wish I would just fade away
