Death Certificate Poem by Manager Poet

Death Certificate

Rating: 0.5

An employee where I work recently lost her son.
Why Death, did a child have to be the one?
She came to my office in search of another.
I could feel the pain radiating from this mother.

She gave me her son’s death certificate to hold.
Emotions came over me that couldn’t be controlled.
His name is Eric, born in the USA February 19,1989.
On May 4,2008, he resides with Jesus forever to shine.

I cannot imagine anything worse in this life than to lose one's child.
Yet, the passing of any life becomes a piece of paper to be filed.
The time you're given with a child is a blessing from God.
To that extent, consider my heartfelt words a gentle prod.
