Decadent Bloom Poem by Claire Sanders

Decadent Bloom

I tiptoe amidst this magnificence of blue,

A regal carpet stretching far and wide,

From field to brook, from wood to vale,

I stand in awe at your lavendar beauty,

For my own pales in comparison,

Such splendour, created in nature's womb,

Repeated for our audience yearly,

I am proud and honored to see you,

I bow my head, bend my knee and curtsey,

The Bluebell, royalty in bloom.

I lay amidst your sumptuous scent and dancing bells,

Ringing out for creatures to pollinate and feed,

Come hither, Bumble Bee, Butterfly, beetles aswell,

I inhale this wondrous moment,

For at times like this I know,

That the world must slow down, stop;

To savour all we can of this splendid show,

For soon enough the colour fades, to be replaced,

Replaced by rapturous pinks and whites.
