Decayed Patience Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Decayed Patience

Make it easy for a child,
To have treats to eat.
Most of their life.
Will often be taken for granted.
With this to believe,
The doing of it...
Is someone's responsibility.
To ensure they live a life,
Sweetened.
Free from the taste of reality.

Yet growing is the disrespect.
And ungratefulness to expect accepted.
To the one who knows and proves...
Selfish attitudes to tolerate,
Can come to an end not to hesitate.
And does.
Quick without announcing it.
Leaving that 'child' now grown shown,
They had slowly decayed the patience...
Of the giver.
