Declaration Poem by Rachel Brewer

Declaration

I won’t promise you the world,
Because I know I can’t give it to you.
But I will give you my declaration of love,
And I hope that’s enough for you.

I can’t promise you I’ll live forever,
Because I know I won’t,
But I will promise to love you forever,
And I hope you love me to.

I can’t promise that I’ll never make you mad,
Because that’s what people do,
We will have our bad moments,
But think of all the good ones we’ll have too.

So I won’t promise you much,
I’ll just promise you my love,
You can have my heart, my body and soul,
And I hope that’s enough.
