Declaring Our Love - Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Declaring our love,
we wrote our
names in the sand.
In the sunset
of a palm tree shaded
grove we lay
down
and talked about
a future of
great,
everlasting,
pure,
love.
You
have been gone
for years now.
The love has cooled
to sub zero
temperatures,
and I’m back to
settling for
writing
my own name
in the snow.

Me thinks you need another sandy beach perhaps....I like the style of your poem...it's quite interesting!
