Deep In The Forest Poem by norman hale

Deep In The Forest

Out there deep in the forest land
There lives three elves deep in a cave
They only come out to terrorize the town
They are named, Demon, Terror, and Dave

These guys are very ugly
As you may as well suspect
And when they leave your town
It will be a total wreck

Demon is the meanest
As you suspect of course
Why, he's been known
To take a bite out of a horse

Ol terror he lives up to his name
Hidding behind bushes and trees
Just to jump out and scare kids
Until they dropp all of their treats

Old dave he steals kids candies
Come every Halloween night
While good ol terror
Is giving them a fright

They say these elves
Have been hunted by hunters and hounds
but, they always disappear
Without leaving any scent or sound

Dave has been known
To hang like a bat in the trees
Then reaches down
And grabs up the kids candies

He just laughs as he runs
With bags in his hands
Laughing and callingn out
'Catch me if you can! '

Demon is just mean
Beating up kids for their candy
Then gives it to the other elves
And they think he's quite handy

Terror is the prankster
Hidding behind bushes and trees
Not caring whom he scares
Why, it could be you or me

So watch out come Halloween night
Make sure you have a ballbat or two
Be ready to knock them down
In case they come after you!
