Defeated but not
Tuesday,16th July 2019

I am defeated general
and now a simple individual
with no kingdom and army
I am in the hands of the enemy

I enter the then huge pandal
that was erected for my arrival
that gate was made low
so my head was not allowed to remain high

How one king should treat another king?
what is the price for bringing the peace?
"how one king treats another" was my reply
he did not press further and gave another try

"no war booty and no annexation"
you have fought bravely along with the battalions
he was happy to met equal on the field
"what a generosity! I changed my opinion and held it firmly

I had heard a lot about invaders
but here he was above all others
with the only to conquerer world
and bring under his domain or fold

such fine stories are on the pages of history
where many countries were plundered
and brought down under control
and called upon to remain as slave states
