Dementia Poem by shannon wright

Dementia

Rating: 5.0

dementia overtakes me
in my myopic world of these four walls
all I see is my reflection
and all that keeps me company
is my misery
I have made this my sanctuary
as well as my prison
but if I can focus long enough
to remember where I placed the keys
I am free to leave

There has always existed a very fine line between genius and insanity.
