Demons Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Demons

They do not sleep,
only wait,
lingering in the corners of silence.

Their whispers are soft,
woven into the breath of the wind,
into the spaces between thoughts.

They wear no faces,
yet they know mine.
They call without speaking,
pull without touching.

I close my eyes,
but darkness is where they live.
I open them,
and they are already there.
