Departed Poem by Mel Mack

Departed

On this cold wind filled night my mind taken by change
Just cry cry cry till the sun gave the ongoing world light
Caring not my soul was turned and mangled
My heart ripped at the seams and knotted, tangled

I stand aside while the tides roll in
I watch the world begin and I watch it end
For long I fight back salt and swallow hard rocks
Then let go of sanity and traveled my mind with broken thoughts

I will never forget that one beauty love
That now by living is only one way, but I must for now remain here
I've cried more than what the ocean holds dear
Without you I stand only in darkness and fear

But this cold wind filled night
I did cry and cry and it's here my sorrow soul must die
So until my body and mind too take to death
I must leave you my dear to rest
