Departure Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Departure

Departure

Words sometimes become like flowers
Raise questions:
Root to thorn and petal to pollen.

Among words "departure"
What is it?
Just to leave?
To exit?
Not to be?
Location?
Whose point of view?

Does foetus leave, depart?
Does baby come arrive?
Is the dead deportees?
To a world arrive?

Is not word a pebble in some hand; crazy's?
Near bank, at a lake making waves; throwing?

Who makes words and what for?
Who wants it then after?
For what use?
Admire, comforting, critique, flirting?
