Desert Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

Desert

In the heart of the barren desert,
Where the wasteland meets the sky,
Stands a wilderness uncharted,
Where the heath and bush collide.

No-man's-land of golden sand,
Stretches far as eye can see,
And the wild beasts roam free and grand,
In this land of mystery.

But amid this desolation,
A sight for sore eyes to behold,
An oasis in the midst of creation,
Where the camel drinks and grows old.

Oh, how the sun beats down,
On this land of harsh repose,
But in this desert, life is found,
In the beauty that only nature knows.

So let us walk this wild terrain,
And let its spirit set us free,
For in this land of endless gain,
Lies the true meaning of liberty.
