Desert Willow Poem by Juan Olivarez

Desert Willow

Rating: 5.0

Desert Willow pretty one,
Alone on the burning sands.
Your ruggedness a place has won,
In the lonely arid lands.

Purple bells some color bring,
To that colorless burning place.
And your praises I must sing,
As you stand there with such grace.

Honey bees are everywhere,
And in your purple blossoms find,
What they came for from their lair,
Your sweet nector so devine.

Desert Willow so very strong,
Pretty in the savage land.
I miss you now that I am gone,
From the Mojave where you stand.
