Destination Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Destination

We had to reach the same destination,
There were two roads to reach there,
One was simple and innocent...full of pure dust,
Another was bright and dazzling,
It was very attractive.
I decided to walk across the naive and dusty road,
But they were reluctant,
They took the sparkling and brilliant way,
I strolled easily enjoying
The simple and refined smell of the rustic dust,
It was indeed a great feeling for me,
I was never in a hurry,
Slowly but steadily I reached my goal
And I found they had already arrived there,
But they looked dull and insipid,
While I was spirited and energetic.
Being surprised, they asked me,
"Why are you so much lively and cheerful? "
I replied promptly,
"I have enjoyed an excellent journey."
They laughed at me with snobbish attitude,
But I did not care,
For I knew what I had achieved,
Truly I became a blithe spirit,
I slept peacefully at night.
