Destiny Poem by Alyssa Lynn

Destiny

Move closer just to move away, breathe me in just to choke on the air I give off. Oh the ways you do this, oh the ways you keep me out. No worries, no lies left to hide. All the things we never meant, like ice you start to melt. Yet every once in a while I feel a chill. I desired to whisper the phrase “don’t forget about me” as if I could avoid my worst fears. As if you could read my mind, and tell me I could’ve avoided these lines. We breathe in all the things we swore I’d never become, like a mime, resort to silence. Cuz you swore to me that I was relevant. You swore to me you would never let these feelings sink in. But we always become the people we swore we’d never be….after all it’s our so called destiny.

'All the things we never meant, could like ice you start to melt' great line XD. Also the closing lines. I hate that poetry is easiest to write when angry/depressed, but I love what you do with it and how you express those feelings of discontent so beautifully, and sometimes, bluntly.
