Devil Inside Poem by Thomas Plotz

Devil Inside

As I stare at my sideward stance,
Viewed in the swing partition mirror

The glance of happenstance
Silhouette profile, of myself

I don't recognize the image I see -

The devil inside
Won't let me go,

Straight ahead I see my eyes, narrow and kind
I realize, I'm hypnotize

To forget everyone I ever loved,
Including myself

Oh, the devil inside
Won't let me be

If our paths, due cross
Please place your hand over your mouth
Let me stare into the soul of your eyes

Maybe then, I'll realize -
Who you were
When, who I was
When, you were Everything You Are,
To me

Oh, the devil inside
Won't let me see
Won't let me see
Who you are, too me

For one and all, whom I love
