Digging In Digging Out Poem by Dorsey Baker

Digging In Digging Out

They are whispering
they don't want you
to hear them
they are preparing
the dinner
ready for the final
goodbye
their words
so carefully chosen
they don't really
want you to know
what they are thinking
trying so hard
to hide
their thoughts from you
but you already know
just as much
as they know
you know what the verdict is
you'll travel into the deep darkness
just to come out again!
