Digging To Dig Deeper Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Digging To Dig Deeper

Monumental flaws,
Protected.
Yet none to correct.
Monumental flaws,
Accepted.

They can not dig any deeper.
To discover that delicious dirt.
They can not dig any deeper to find,
Only to themselves...
Do they unleash the hurt.

Monumental are their flaws.
And monumental everyday on display,
Are their old ways charaded.
Fading in age.

Rusted.
Fading in age.
Yet digging to dig deeper,
For old dirt.
And something nasty from the past.
That nasty to have had,
Now these days a passing fad.
But trusted...
To bring,
Shock and awe.

Monumental flaws go protected.
Yet...
None to correct.
Old dirt is dug to be thrown.
And this is all shown to them known.

They can not dig any deeper.
To undercover that delicious dirt.
They can not dig any deeper to find,
A cure or a remedy to heal what hurts.
Or the pain that increases,
They cause to occur.

Monumental to inflict them are their flaws.
Accepted.
Monumental to inflict them are their flaws.
Protected.
Yet none to correct.

Digging to dig deeper for that dirt.
On others to do.
Defending to protect monumental flaws.
Accepted.
Yet none to correct.
Digging to dig deeper of that dirt to do.
On others.
Accepted.

Digging to dig deeper is their own pain.
Unexpected.

Digging to dig deeper is their own pain.
