Digital Bug Poem by Anil Kumar

Digital Bug

Rating: 4.5

You sit there bleary eyed,
Glued to the screen
Looking at flashing images
From movies, soaps, songs and shows
And flipping, skipping
Channels of news, science,
Travel, nature, and outdoors!
With the remote in hand
You sit sloppily on the sofa
Sipping on soda and munching fries
Thinking nothing
And gaining nothing
But girth and gas!
When bored,
You take to the games
Or the computer
And go on posting selfies and statuses,
That, sorry to say, are often weird
For mechanical likes and comments.
You chat on and on and on
About what's hot, what's not;
What's in, what's out
While your meals, work
And the racquet
Lie neglected!
A button pressing monkey,
A slave of habit,
A killer of time,
A digital bug
Are you?
