Dipawali Year Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Dipawali Year

Dipawali

It is called "Dipawali"*
The festival of lights
The victory of right over wrong
It is saying hello with rhythmic songs

At this very day, lord Rama ended 14 years exile
He entered his kingdom with complete troupe
Even though he had willingly endorsed the fathers wish
His brother had not occupied throne or expressed desire

It is memorable face and now sung by all folk
Each Hindu family may take oath under his name and talk truth
Such was Lord Ram's exile scene
And in those years, he was never seen in public

It is victory over dark
Light embarks on earth's surface and we start
All work in these holy days
So it succeeds in all the ways

It is celebrated with lighting of lamps
It has "Dipawali" stampings
The crackers are exploded and sound is heard
Let us forget all bitterness and exchange pleasant words

Deepawali: - The festival of lights
