Disastrous Loyalty Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Disastrous Loyalty

One's loyalty to give,
Does not require them to have...
Intelligence possessed.
Or experience proven,
Competence is expected.
As long as their obedience is kept.

And anyone who selects,
A team expressing utmost loyalty given.
Told what to do,
Without questioning the task.
Will ultimately be led to disaster.
By a leader who only wishes,
To be perceived as a genious.
Regardless of the facts,
Revealing acts attacking...
Common sense and the absence of it.
Seldom produces benefits or its evidence.
But a loyalty remaining,
That satisfies a leader with an ego.
Will claim a disaster effectively to cause,
Had been successful enough to earn applause.

And to hear and get applause,
With this to get.
Is only what a leader like this,
Expects to have their wants and wishes met.
No matter how disastrous such loyalty is kept.
