Discovering Poem by Ray Hansell

Discovering

What would I ever do?
If I were to meet you
For now you're just a name
As we engage in this guessing game
I see your name on my computer screen
You are the unknown mystery queen
Every now and then another clue
To help me learn more about you
I've told you things about myself
I've never shared with anyone else
I find this all so intriguing
Even at times unbelieving
Your emails read so soft and kind
Thoughts of you cross my mind
So many thoughts that run so deep
I've dreamed of us in my sleep
I dreamed we met at a coffee shop
Talking for hours non-stop
Slowly my dream begins to fade
While music still softly played
Then my dream came to it's end
What a great time we got to spend
Lost in a dream just you and I
That's what's known as a natural high
So once again tonight
I sit and wonder, did she write?
I open my email with great anticipation
Will I be sad or filled with elation?
I can't say what happened next
I'll tell you more after I check
