Dissolution Poem by Ray Hansell

Dissolution

I held love in my hands
When I was holding you
It was the greatest feeling
My heart ever knew

When you smiled at me
A million suns would shine
Your love was safe and secure
In this heart of mine

But, slowly things were changing
Like a calm before a storm
Then before we knew it
There was a coldness where it once was warm

Love can bring two people together
Sometimes it pushes them further apart
It once was warm and tender
Back when she was your sweetheart

No friendly words are now spoken
Anger now is all you hear
Can you please tell me
What happened to the love that once lived here?
