Disqualified

I read an article
- "Disqualified were camels…"
- (of course, in Saudi…
-the land of racism, sexism; brutal
-brainless fanatics on throne!
- "Great job that you did…
-Mr. Lawrence."

Beauty contest has rejected:
- "Owners have used Botox."

Silently
-bit my nail; on index
- "What is this? "

Goddamn mind
-calls in more
-shadows walk on the walls.

Harry in Valley-Wood
Hoseini in Shiraz and Tehran
And many in the Mosque
(I stop but endless are the lines…)

"Harry called to thank you…"
-I am told…
-had done none but normal…
-have seen pain, actual
-so, felt him…that is all…

Goes through a divorce
-children are his love…
-but the laws and his wife? ? ?

I did not play game
-neither was a show off
-truly sympathised
-since felt his…that is all…

Hoseini was pilot
-very young, co-pilot.

Was revolt in Iran
-in the late spring
-of nineteen-sixty-three.

I too went to bazaar, in Tehran
-Khomeini was expelled
-and exiled…poor he, was co-pilot.

World and life
-are parts of "Mary-Go-Round".

Years after we observed
-Shah left and Khomeini
-returned; well-dignified.

I saw when Hoseini
-came to see Khomeini.

Wanted to explain:
- "I was an officer, took order…"
-apologise…

Threats came in the calls
-days and nights
-not by boss
-but by mobs
-he hijacked a plane
- (did not want, was not will;
-just to live…)

Confused I feel as
-did what saw as a child;
- (a rooster with cut head
-dangling from neck,
-and blood on feathers,
-walked, very unaware: "It is end")

Am amused and question:
"What are we? "
"What is this? "
