The illusionary self paralyzes man
and obscures reality.
He is his own worst enemy.
Dissolution of the false self
is the answer to most problems.
Man is an exile in a world
of objects, each one capable
of deluding and enslaving him.
Man is held captive
in the complex
and painful network
of loves and hatreds, desires
and fears, lies and excuses.

I sense what you’re saying here, Tony. Attachment to our persona indeed incites what you say here. A poem from Rumi comes to mind with the line that every object can be a jar of delight. He goes on to say, though, that we should choose like connosieurs. The outer world is quite different when seen with the heart and eyes of love and gratitude. Signing off for now, Be well, brother.
