Distant Dream Poem by Scott Mitchell

Distant Dream

Rating: 5.0

Travelling on a train, destination unknown
Lying on a small bed, next to you
My hands reflecting love I've shown
Your body so soft, your heart so true

Gentle kisses, and words from my heart
You've changed me, my mind, and my spirit
The day comes, to never be apart
My heart beats avidly, and you can hear it

This moment should last, future hope, no past
I need your body and your spirit, I admit
I wish this train didn't go so fast
Destination unknown, but my love will never quit

Sweat covered, I wake from this dream
in the middle of the night
I almost scream, as I realize
it's my blanket I’m holding tight

I'm here now alone
there's a message from you on my phone
I want more than this
I’ll hold on to my wish

This burden of distance must end
Now you're more than a friend
