Division Of The Mind Poem by Sven Rhoads

Division Of The Mind

I feel your nails on my skin
Raking as smooth as the razor
Even when no one is there
You're the knot so tightly within
My favorite poison flavor
To the wind I throw all my care

But here in my heart is a stone
That bares your haunting name
So useless it is to escape
Cause it all just ends the same
I need to sever all of the ties
Until all I have is my shadow
But this drug that you call love
Will always come to follow

You've got your hooks in my flesh
Taking me to a whole new high
Reborn to once again expire
Those hands like a noose to my neck
Burning wings that cant reach the sky
To drown in the lust and the fire

As it kills me it brings me to life
The sweetest nothings that divide my mind
Wearing a smile for the beating to hide
Why do I love you and the six feet dive
