Divorce - 1 Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Divorce - 1

Rating: 5.0

I loved you, a long time ago,
But you killed my love, just let it go.

You seemed to think, I did not matter,
But, when it was too late, and reality set in,
You changed your mind, you wanted back in.

I did not care, I wanted you not.
You tried to change my mind, but it was too far gone,
You waited too late, you waited too long.

You were hurt, and angry inside,
So vowed to make my life, one rocky ride.
You thought you would break me,
You really thought you could.
The land, the house, cattle and all, you screwed
Me around, thought you would get me to fold.

But I stuck it out, the kids were what mattered,
We made a plan, and the judge agreed,
Two weeks a month, by the decree.

You may have more money,
And you may have more stuff,
But if that is what mattered, I’d still be your love.
Love is what matters, and we had it not,
No use in giving it one more shot
