A lantern moon shines in the sky,
beaming down upon the earth;
as moonrays float and seem to fly,
down to every home and hearth.
Bright starry sparklers tantalise,
streaming fountains in the breeze;
Gazing down with laughing eyes,
that shyly wink and blink to tease.
The air is burnished, all a- glimmer,
bedecked with festive joy and cheer;
Silver cloudbursts all a-shimmer,
as the celebration draws near...
Let all the diya lamps burn bright!
For He has said "Let there be light! "
