And God went on to say 'Let the earth
put forth living souls according to their kind,
domestic animal and moving animal and wild
beast' therefore animals are all living souls...

to be alive must we be breathing?

'And Jehovah God proceeded
to form the man out of the dust
from the ground and to blow
into his nostrils the breath of life,

and the man came to be a living soul.'

vegetation grass plants trees are life or alive?
they are life God describes them as green things
but green things are not described as living souls
there is life but not all life has living souls...
