Doing Her A Favor Poem by Randy McClave

Doing Her A Favor

She asked me if I would do her a favor
I told her that I am always prepared for any task or labor,
Of course this wasn't the first time that she had that request
Many times for a favor for her in the past I went on a quest.
I never asked her or inquired what the favor was
Because helping others is what friends does,
And whenever she asked I was already prepared
Because, I had cared.
When she needed a favor I happily loaned her money
And my deposition was always sunny,
Whether she needed it for food or things or to catch up bills
Or maybe it was for her to buy some thrills.
Over a long period of time I think that she had paid me back
But, never not once for repayment did I demand or attack,
And whenever that she asked me if I could bring her some food
I drove where she was and I delivered it as I should.
I did it all as a favor for her
Wherever that she was and many times I was her chauffeur,
Then one day I asked her to do a favor for me
Just wanting to see what her reaction would or might happily be.
And then when that request from me was given
She then became hateful and very evil driven,
She called me every horrible name that's written in the book
As though if I were a liar, or a user, or a crook.
Just because I had asked her one time for some assistance
She gave me hate and curses and so much resistance,
So, of course I don't do her favors no more
I don't loan her money, or buy her food, or take her places I have swore.
She doesn't get in contact me now for no reason at all
I guess it's because I won't be there if needs help or does fall,
She then asked me one day what was that favor of mine
I told her the truth, I don't know, I was just testing that line.
