When we suffer pain,
It leaves a stain,
It's but one of the trials of living,
Though such a drain,
Do try to refrain,
From saying that life's unforgiving.

Search for the cure,
It has an allure,
It also wears many a disguise,
Pain can obscure,
But if you endure,
It evaporates in front of your eyes.

Don't sit and brood,
Search for what's good,
Being positive will always hold sway,
With others collude,
It brings fortitude,
Recovery is but a heartbeat away.

Regardless of type,
Don't listen to hype,
Though pain can be physical or mental,
Give memories a wipe,
Make the time ripe,
To yourself do be kind and gentle.

You hold the key,
To let yourself see,
There's life for you after the fact,
You may not agree,
But to set your mind free,
The secret is in how you react.

Yesterday has gone,
Today's your new dawn,
Though the past you will never forget,
Though you feel overdrawn,
It's time to move on,
