Don't Tell Newman

Over dinner:
'If that guy Newman
knew
that his name means
more than it looks to -
that 'numen' is Latin
for 'divinity' -
that knowledge would go to his head, '
said a follower of Athenaeus to me,
and, 'Psst! Don't tell Newman:
he'll think he's better than we.'

I'm pretending I didn't hear the Psst!
A 'he' with an H - that I gotta see.
