Don't Wake Me Up Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Don't Wake Me Up

Don't wake me up
I am going to sleep long
And deep inside the earthy cell
With my hands folded
On my chest lower down
My box after giving the final nail

My cell must be dug
Where the wind blows soft
And birds play their surly games
There will be flowers
All around and whispers as
They are plucked by village dames

Don't wake me up
Inside my cell I will listen
Sweet lullaby of a passing stream
In my eternal sleep I
Will fly with fragrances of
The moist earth as if I am in a dream

Far from the bloodshed,
Lies, anger, hate and crime
I like to go away and sleep in peace
Under the canopy of
The stars spangled sky I will
Lie without any love, without a wish
