I never count syllables
I have no time
sitting idle in Quarantine
laps top on top
of laps of mine
but
still I chime
and my poems rhyme
many clap for me
so keep writing
syllables now a days are for silly
in olden days
'twas a pass time
now we have
tv cv and biwi
Hahaha so funny. If that is true Food should be salty As it raises BP. Beauty of every thing Lies in being submissive It's we who have been progressive To earn the crown of busy wizy Mister hubby where to add on. No dirth of words in house of the poet. Lavishly sprinkling until greenery spreads. Good words Sir. Yes olden days they had much time.

Free verse is always better and easier to express one's ideas in poetry. But certain poetic forms have to be within a certain syllable count like limericks, sonnets etc. It needs effort and discipline on the part of a poet to restrict himself within a poetic frame.....! So I cannot fully agree with you that it is a waste of time, counting syllables. However I enjoy your sense of humour!
