Don'T You Love The Rain? Poem by George Hunter

Don'T You Love The Rain?

Rating: 2.0

Love that rain
Upon the pane.
Great big drops
Good for crops.

It’s just the monsoon
Falling in June.
Making a flood
A sea of mud.

Good weather for dozing
And rhyme composing.
Stay indoors
Do your chores.

Soon it will stop
And then you can shop.

Sit back and relax
Enjoy God’s tears
Contemplate your navel
Over a couple of beers.

I too love the rain, you know. But, I've never had time to contemplate my navel or have beer. I love soaking in the rain and then coming inside sit and write a poem with the spray of it on my face. Oh! I miss the rain, it is still hot in Chennai and the clouds they pass us by! So, sad for me. Angel

haha this is a fun poem, I like it, especially the ending, 'Contemplate your navel Over a couple of beers'. Come and read a few of mine if you're having a beer or two. Ruthy
