O, Light impenetrable
Don't dazzle us, please
You come down, penetrate us not all at once
But in slow cadences, softly, ever so gently
That we may not be struck blind in frenzy
But be allowed the blessedness of vision
And when at last we sleep, we can forgive ourselves
Feel at least partially fulfilled in our fancies
