Doris Day Poem by Francis Duggan

Doris Day

Doris Day the singer and actress at ninety seven has died
And news of her passing has spread Worldwide
One more famous person to be counted out
And of the eulogiesfor her she will not know about
Since to the deceased fame and anonymity are of the same
No use to the dead if in life they knew of fame
Since for them no hope for the future ahead
Money and fame is of no use to the dead
With the one who claims all lives she has had her date
Doris Day the actress singer to her millions of fans was a great
To the scythe of the Reaper of lives she did fall
At the end of life's journey death awaits us all
DorisDay the famous one has breathed her last
She does not have a future though she had a great past.
