Down and out, by James Sebastiani
Sheltering in doorways,
Some dressed in rags,
Dishevelled and dirty,
In damp sleeping bags,
The cold night air,
The rain and the snow,
Robs them of comfort,
But nowhere else to go
Then morning arrives,
And with it the throng,
Mocking faces, judging and cruel,
You're all scum, you're where you belong
Junkies and whino's,
Why don't you get a job,
Like normal people,
Instead of begging, you lazy slob,
But some have no choice,
Due to unforseen circumstances,
Redundancy, divorce, mental illness,
Have robbed these souls of any chances,
It could happen to anyone,
It could happen to you
One day your life can be torn from asunder,
Unless of course you are one of the fortunate few,
So next time you see someone begging for money?
Don't turn away, just some dead-beat
Wanting his next fix, or can of special brew,
Maybe he's just hungry, needs something to eat.
Such a sad plight of the countless people around the world who are homeless.... good presentation....10+++++
