Down By The Sea Poem by Damian Dauthdaert

A place down by the sea
A place always merry
That is the place I shall go
Down by the beach where the waters flow

Where feasting is to be had
And nobody is ever sad
That is the place I shall go
This is where I will know

The waves draw forward, ever more
Crumbling the palace that was such a bore
The waves come crashing upon the wreck
Forever remembered as only a speck

So listen draw your ears to hear
This tale of fate that has drawn near
Nothing golden may ever last
As long as you live in the past

The moral of the poem is that if one lives in the past nothing good can ever come from it.
