Downtown Poem by Josh Bashline

Downtown

Dark skies.
Windless night.

Lonely trees.
Broken sidewalks.

Empty streets.
Forgotten shadows.

Full moon.
Lost hope.

I like this poem a lot. I like how it is short and sweet... but why is the hope lost? Don't people make wishes when looking at full moons?
